There are exceptions for me, as I noted. I was thinking more of movies and TV shows when I set a rough cut-off year, but now commercials...I've seen ones from the mid-70s that I enjoy. I guess for me commercials are a combination of the nostalgic "I remember that!" and "I wanted one of those!"
Yeah, the 80s left me cold and is the decade I stopped watching broadcast or cable TV altogether, except for catching old movies late at night.
